b'OP/EDMy Concerns RegardingWater Issues and Climate Change By Autumn PeltierT hinking back, my views have expanded and grown to a deeper understanding, since I first began to learn what boil water advisories were and how they impacted my people. From the day I began advocating, back when I was eight years old, to now, at 15, there are still Indigenous communities that cant drink their water.I think of my dear Auntie Josephine and how she began her work for our sacred waters almost 16 years ago. I wonder, where will I be in 16 years? Will our Indigenous communities still be under boil water advisories and dealing with water issues in 16 years? Will I be 31, and still working as hard as I am? I envision clean waters for our people, across Canada, the United States and globally. I want to see more waterways that have rights, like human rights, so they are better protected. I also hope that one day there is a fund that can be accessible to young girls to access traditional teachings on the roles of women.
