Using the First Nations Health Transformation Agenda and the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework as guiding documents, the AFN Health Sector works on file areas such as: the AFN-FNIHB Joint Review of Non-Insured Benefits; public health; mental wellness (suicide, substance use, Indian Residential School supports); family wellness, midwifery and bringing birthing closer to home; chronic diseases such as diabetes; cultural safety; and other important facets of First Nations health. The Health Sector works with key partners such as the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation, First Nations Health Managers Association, the FirstBreakout session at the AFNs Mental Health Wellness Forum.50 The Circle Winter Issue 1 2019'
