When it comes to relocation, Harris notes there are many disruptive forces changing the way we deploy talent and how we design and deliver relocation support services. Understanding the power of disruption and embracing practical, proven coping strategies is imperative, as is understanding that disruption can open up all sorts of new possibilities. “It’s an opportunity for our future,” says Harris, adding, “The work that CERC professionals do is very important for our economy and for the Canada of the future. Relocation of immigrants, for instance, is an important part of addressing disruption. We must make it a priority to fast-track them or we will lose those people.” Another notable speaker at this year’s event is author and TV host Jill Hewlett. In her session titled Brain Fitness: Change your Brain, Change your Results, Hewlett will teach delegates how to outsmart daily life and workplace challenges by building mindfulness muscles and optimizing brain power. “Relocation professionals will learn many things,” she explains. “First and foremost [they will learn] about their brains and how to make them more powerful, fit and agile. Awareness creates change. New neural pathways are formed when we learn, so simply by learning about your brain, positive change will already have started.” Hewlett’s session will be an experiential, interactive and grounded experience in current neuroscience. To their advantage, participants will acquire strategies they can put to use right away. They will be primed to apply the time-saving and no-cost approaches to reduce stress, raise energy levels, improve focus, contribute to their mental health and wellness, and be more effective at work and at home. In the Service Partner Workshop, Hugues Gibeault, CEO and co-founder of Optimé International, will present a session titled A Culture of Winning. The renowned business leader – a return speaker to the CERC conference – will outline why a disciplined, consistent application of strong sales and service fundamentals is a key focus for successful organizations. Building on the Power of Partnership principles he introduced at the CERC 2017 event, Gibeault will coach participants through the seven proven steps to effectively articulate a value proposition to clients. Participants will also learn how to improve listening skills and have an oppor- tunity to review and benchmark against key research-based indi- cators that impact sales and service performance. In addition to attending conference presentations, delegates will have plenty of opportunities to network and actively participate in extensive discussions with their peers, collaborating to solve their mutual mobility challenges. They will also learn all about the latest relocation trends and services from supplier partners in attendance. Whether at the keynote presentations or the many information-packed plenary sessions and seminars, this year’s CERC conference promises to present boundless learning opportunities to help members uncover new mobility solutions, exchange knowledge and grow networks. “Whether this is one of many CERC conferences you have attended, or perhaps your first one, you are assured to learn new things, find ways to explore solutions with the experts and problem solve with your peers,” says Healey. “On behalf of this year’s Conference Planning Committee, we invite you to come to Montreal, meet new people, have a great learning experience and enjoy lots of fun at the 2018 CERC Conference. We just need you to help us make this year’s conference a great success!” Safety and Security Caring crews with attention to detail... THAT IS PARAMOUNT!
