BDO Canada’s expat tax and immigration services join forces BDO Canada’s Expatriate Tax and Immigration Services practices joined forces in January to offer coordinated, customized solutions for global business clients with a cross border work force. With a unified expatriate tax and immigration team, BDO clients will have a single point of contact for visas and work permits, tax, payroll, and business traveller program management. The initiative is headed by newly appointed national practice leader Joanne Sun and directed by Doreen Buksner. With a collaborative global network, BDO Canada’s Global Expatriate and Immigration Services team will offer a holistic, streamlined approach to ensure a more seamless cross border program. As well, BDO's business trav- eller management app will remain a fundamental tool in supporting the company’s client base and their employees. Plus Relocation announces first-ever Plus Partner Award winners Plus Relocation recently announced the recipients of its inaugural Plus Partner Awards – a family of awards recognizing partners that go above and beyond to service clients and relocating employees. Altogether, there are five award categories, with winners nominated by Plus employees and then voted on by the Plus global supply chain team and company executives. SuiteAmerica, a provider of corporate housing solutions, won the In Their Shoes Award, while Chamness Worldwide, a destina- tion services provider, received the Employee Experience Award. The recipient of the Innovation Award was ReloQuest, for its game-changing technology platform, and the Plus Values Award went to Arpin International. The final award, the Delivery Delight Award, went to National Corporate Housing, a global temporary housing provider. The award honours a company that delivers a truly positive end-to-end experience to clients. It marks the highest achievement possible by a Plus partner. INDUSTRY NEWSFALL 2018 CAM partners with BBBs to help consumers steer clear of crooked companies The Canadian Association of Movers (CAM) launched an important new partnership with Better Business Bureaus across Canada. Together, their goal is to provide relevant and trustworthy tips to consumers to help them avoid the pitfalls of working with unscrupulous and fly-by-night movers. Recent media horror stories on charges against movers have made it imperative to get the message out to consumers that they need to be careful. Some media have even reported cases of death threats being made against clients and the theft of a huge volume of personal effects filling numerous storage units. Consumers are advised to check with CAM and the BBB to find trusted, reliable companies for their moving needs.
