DIRECTORS HONOUR ROLL
DAWN TATTLE | FOUNDER & OWNER, DAWN TATTLE ENTERPRISES LTD.
On the board, and throughout
her career, Tattle was a
consistent advocate for
industry health and safety.
She was involved with the
League of Champions, spoke
frequently at industry events
and helped raise awareness
about young worker safety
and workplace rights. Tattle
also served as a valued link
between TCA and provincial
safety initiatives, including the
Ontario Ministry of Labour’s
Prevention Council and the
Ontario Vulnerable Worker
Task Force.
She asserts that “maintaining
a strong safety culture is
critical if we want to attract
people to the construction
industry. More importantly,
everybody needs to be able to
go home safely every day. We
all have families and people
who depend on us.”
Tattle has also focused her
industry and volunteer efforts
on broadening participation in
the sector. As a TCA director,
industry leader and mentor,
she has worked to bring more
women and individuals from
diverse backgrounds into
construction while leading by
example. “When people see
someone like themselves in
construction leadership, it
helps them believe they belong
in the industry,” she says.
Tattle says it was a privilege to
work alongside her peers at
TCA and to continue advancing
these other issues through her
consulting company.
The Directors Honour Roll
recognizes individuals who
have made a distinguished
impact on the Toronto
Construction Association (TCA)
and the GTA construction
industry. For more than a
decade, Tattle brought her
career insights to discussions
on industry priorities, member
services and workforce
development on the TCA
board. Her perspective was
shaped by a 30-year career
as president and co-partner
of Anchor Shoring & Caissons
Ltd. (1997-2017), followed by
a tenure as a director with The
Guarantee Company of North
America (2017-2019) and
consulting and education work
at Dawn Tattle Enterprises
(2019-present).
COMMUNITY LEADER AWARD
JULIE ZABIZEWSKI | VICE PRESIDENT OF STRATEGY, VESTACON LIMITED
volunteered with Daily Bread
Food Bank and Feed the
Need Durham.
Her community leadership
extends across the
construction sector. A
long-standing TCA member
and volunteer, Zabizewski
previously served as co-
chair of the association’s
entertainment committee
and continues to support its
initiatives. She also sits on
the Board of Directors for
the Canadian Association of
Women in Construction and
holds committee leadership
roles with Toronto CREW.
Beyond industry organizations,
she contributes her time to
groups such as PMI Durham
Highlands and Community
Care Durham.
Reflecting on her work,
Zabizewski says the support
she received throughout her
career has inspired her to
help build stronger systems,
whether by advancing women
in construction, supporting
youth exposure to the trades
or strengthening industry
associations. “I’ve always
believed leadership extends
beyond the office and the
jobsite,” she says. “Giving
back is how I honour
that investment.”
Grateful for the recognition,
she notes that “community
leadership is never a solo
effort,” and credits mentors,
peers and the Vestacon team
for making her work possible.
TCA’s Community Leader
Award recognizes individuals
who dedicate their time,
expertise and passion
to strengthening their

vice president of strategy at
Vestacon Limited, is a fitting
recipient for 2025.
Zabizewski’s volunteer
commitments are as
substantial as her nearly
two-decade career in
construction. Since
2011, she has supported
Habitat for Humanity GTA,
serving as a Women Build
Ambassador while leading
