A LASTING IMPRESSION
Seven years after opening, Pioneer 
Village Station continues to turn heads. Its 
weathering steel surfaces have matured 
into a rich, stable finish, reinforcing its 
durability and achieving its original 
design intent.
However, the Yonge-University 
station is more than a transit stop; it is a 
showpiece of what an artisan approach 
to steel design can create. “The result 
is a station that stands as both shelter 
and graceful design,” Mr. Colakovich 
says. “It’s a showcase of meticulous 
development and architectural excellence 
meant to serve the bustle of everyday
