The planning and installation of the roof were challenging and a significant accomplishment for the company.” The cultural school project was a good example of how things have changed in the roofing business since Mark started his career. When he began in the 1980s, there were really only a few colours of sheet metal used and the machine shop involved only a couple of brakes and a slitter. “Today there is a wide array of metal colours and machines needed to meet the changing needs of architects and contractors. The business is becoming much more technical,” explained Mark. Interior Roofing has been a member of the Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia (RCABC) for more than 35 years. The company sees significant value in their RCABC membership for a number of reasons. “Primarily, we value the technical information provided; particularly the roofing guidelines established for the industry,” acknowledged Aaron. “With our company’s commitment to the continuing education, the education programs (roofing, steep roofing and architectural sheet metal) enable new apprentices and existing employees to stay up-to-date on industry practices.” Interior also uses the commercial and residential customer guarantee programs offered by the association.
