Message from the Chair Message de la présidente du Conseil Annie Brunelle O ver the past several months, one thing has become increas- ingly clear: the conversation around mobility has shifted, and more importantly, our actions are catching up with it. As a board and as a community, we are seeing real momentum, not only in how we talk about mobility but in how we are advancing it in practice. What stands out is how much more grounded and action-oriented our conversations have become, and how aligned we are on where we need to go next. That momentum is rooted in the strength of our community. There is a growing demand for connection, practical insight and shared solutions in an increasingly complex environment. Within that complexity, a shift is taking hold. Mobility is becoming more delib- erate, more closely aligned to business needs and more visible in decision-making. Our role also extends beyond individual organizations. CERC continues to engage with the government on issues that directly impact mobility, from immigration to housing and global talent competitiveness, shaping real decisions around talent movement today. This is where collaboration becomes critical. No single organization can influence these issues alone. By strengthening partnerships with industry groups and stakeholders, we amplify our collective voice and increase our ability to drive meaningful change. A key area of progress this year has been the advancement of our Strategic Global Mobility initiative, led by Pavan Parmar and the Strategic Global Mobility Steering Committee. This work is focused on repositioning mobility from a transactional service to a true advisory function, and on making that shift practical for our members. Key priorities include developing a playbook that links mobility to business outcomes, strengthening cross functional alignment across HR, finance and legal, and expanding our focus on ESG, DEI and the role of technology in shaping modern mobility. At its core, the direction is clear: mobility delivers the most value when it is embedded in decision making, not added in after the fact. This is why the theme of our 2026 conference in Fredericton, Move Talent with Purpose: Build Business with Impact, feels so timely.
