IT WILL. OF THAT, I AM CERTAIN.is yes. More to the point, buyers of construction, particularly public buyers, are making COR certification a requisite in increasing numbers, and the question for employers fast becomes whether they can afford NOT to begin the COR certification process.I wish I could tell you that all the recent changes around occupational health and safety would ensure fewer fatalities (at a minimum, fewer work-related injuries and illnesses) but the truth is, that hasnt happened yet. It will. Of that, I am certain. But these things take time and the road to zero will inevitably be long and bumpy. Sadly, the rewards that come with better assurances that the men and women we work with will go home safely to their families each and every night comes at a cost and that cost, we know, is significant. I like to think of it as an investment rather than an expense, but names and titlesare meaningless.I would like to offer one suggestion. Consider joining the League of Champions. We did. Our vision at the League of Champions is inspiring leaders to be health and safety champions and our mission is to collaboratively take action to improve safety culture through awareness, education, promotion and recognition, leading to safer construction workplaces in Ontario. Construction safety is no accident. Success, however, only happens if our culture changes, and that only happens when leaders choose to lead by example.Food for thought.
