One of our staff members, Richard Shanks, is our full-time Busi- ness Development Manager. Richard’s focus in 2018 is to concentrate on what we refer to as the roofing industry’s pri- vate sector. We define the private sector as buildings that are privately owned, as opposed to the public sector which could include insti- tutional buildings such as schools and government-occupied facili- ties. While developing business for our members may seem rather self-centred and only of benefit to them, it is important to realize that using OIRCA roofing con- tractors also provides building owners with much valued assis- tance and peace of mind. If you are a building own- er that manages your own facilities, or are a property manager or plant engineer, you no doubt have experienced challenges when servicing, maintaining or replacing your building’s roof.
