Ontario Electrical Contractor 7 of 309A electrician (and other electrical-related trades practiced by employees of ECAO members), the requirement for transparency and opportunities for industry participation in any SoP review, and the necessity of contemplating practical considerations. It is absolutely critical to ECAO that our members not be faced with any additional impediments by these reviews (or any other administrative action) to increasing market share, and this is a view shared by our labour partners – IBEW/CCO. Based on the success of our initial webinar, Fitness for Duty Policy Seminar, we are getting to work on increasing our distant education programs for our members. I understand the difficulty in getting your employees toToronto for training programs and the desire for training opportunities for those employees to strengthen and grow your business; this has been a dilemma faced by many of our members for quite some time. By increasing these programs that can be undertaken from a distance, ECAO hopes that we can provide a wider range of educational programs that are accessible to all. Collective bargaining or negotiations are, of course, on all of our minds at this time. With the Principle Agreement set to expire on April 30, 2019, we realize the importance and timeliness of getting the process started. To that end I can report that your Electrical Trade Bargaining Agency (ETBA) has begun meaningful discussions with the IBEW/CCO and its local unions. Regular reports on developments in this regard are provided in our e-news and Local ECA Newsletter. ECAO will continue to provide updates as negotiations unfold. Please join me and the ECAO Board this fall at our Annual General Meeting and our '70s theme reception and dinner.
