b'In honour and loving memory ofBAHAREH HAJ ESFANDIARI, MIRMOHAMMAD SADEGHI, and ANISA SADEGHIThe Manitoba construction community was deeply affected by the tragic event of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 which was downed by an Iranian missile near Tehran on January 8, 2020. Marwest Construction and Fresh Projects Builders mourn the tragic deaths of Bahareh Haj Esfandiari, Mirmohammad(Mahdi) Sadeghi, and their daughter Anisa Sadeghi. The family moved from Iran to Winnipeg in 2016 and worked in the local construction industry. Bahareh, a civil engineer, joined Marwest Construction as a Project Coordinator, dedicated to the highrise apartment project at 300 Main Street. Her infectious bright smile, tireless work ethic, wisdom and kind heart will be dearly missed. Her Marwest family will always be grateful to have worked alongside such a wonderful colleague and friend.Mahdi, a civil engineer, joined Fresh Projects Builders as a Project Administrator and worked on projects in Brandon and Flin Flon. He was kind hearted and always smiling. His colleagues and coworkers at Fresh Projects are grateful to have had him as part of their team and family. This summer, Marwest Construction and Artis REIT will establish a memorial Bahareh Garden on the site of 300 Main, the project Bahareh was working on. All staff on the site wear stickers on their hard hats with the initials of the family members, along with the Canadian and Iranian flags. We are united in grief over this tragedy.
