Marie Construction Association has become the Industry’s voice in the District of Algoma, representing 134 General Contractor, Trade Contractor and Industry Supplier member companies earning their way in the regional construction industry. The Association advocates actively on their behalf in their business relationships with all levels of Government and owner clients, recognizing that fair and open tendering policies, effective communication and cooperation are the keys to successful projects. Our Association operates a physical and electronic planroom as part of Ontario’s network of 11 Local Construction Associations, providing full drawing and specifications copying, scanning services and affidavit service. We also facilitate training courses for local construction specific needs and assist our Membership with the development or improvement of Health and Safety Policy, Programs and Procedures. We organize various social events throughout the year including our Annual General Meeting, Curling Bonspiel, President’s Barbeque and Bocce Tournament, the Harvey Buchan Golf Tournament, and our Small Business Christmas Party. The Golf Tournament is especially important because the Association uses the proceeds from the tournament to fund a learning bursary for member company family members preparing for post-secondary education.
