In the typical fashion of not staying complacent with anything we do, PPE is no exception, which brings us to the change that has our workforce looking a little different than yesteryear: the hardhat!EllisDon homed in on the fact that there have been many incidents in the industry where workers have suffered a head injury because of their hardhat not staying in place. After looking at these incidents, we saw an opportunity to improve by providing a hardhat that remains secure atop a persons head through high-impact incidents. As such, we introduced the climber-style hardhat across the entire company, globally. This new head protection solution complements our tethering program for all leading-edge work as this piece of equipment has a chin strap that facilitates a secure and comfortable fit.As expected, we have had some challenges with the initial rollout, specifically around supply chain, and of course, employees embracing the hat, one which they have never worn in their career.
