I was working a regular nine to five, then on top of that at a certain point I was going in from 8 p.m. tillmidnight,whiletakingcareofthe kids all day.Burshan says her supervisor began to apply pressure on her to put her children intolimited-tonon-existentdaycare sothatshecouldputmoretimeinto the office. As the pressure rose and her work-life balance waned, she opened a letter from her union outlining her retire-ment plan.
