Gibbons’ work on the Region of Niagara’s Southside Low Lift Sewage Pump Station. The project tasked crews with increasing the wet weather flow capacity of the region’s sanitary storm sewer – a job that Dave Gianfrancesco, Construction Manager at V. Gibbons, says provided more than a few challenges. What were the main challenges during this project? For one, it took place about five metres away from the Welland River. There were also severe groundwater issues and a large Ontario’s sewer and watermain contractors are undertaking unique challenges and innovative solutions on projects across the province.
